This atlas gives no indication of any author. It was published in Leipzig, "in der Baumgärtnerschen Buchhandlung", in 1816.
The area of each plate within the black border measures 288mm x 176 mm. All 25 plates are printed in black ink from the same plate, and coloured, by hand in water-colour, differently.
The original colours are remarkably well preserved. They are presented on this site without any enhancement. I assume that this is because the pigments are mineral, and have not changed with time.
The German text of the atlas was translated into the English presented on these pages by Christa and Günther Senst of Bad Zwischenahn.
