This atlas is trilingual, in Finnish, Swedish and French. Although Finland was a province of Russia at the time of its publication, it contains no Russian. The subtitle and foreword are in Swedish.

The pages measure 427 x 298 mm. The maps themselves, as demarcated by the black lines, measure typically 400 x 570 mm for double-page plates, and 400 x 280 for single-page plates.
